Hello, Petentials.com! Allow me to introduce you to the new section where I will be interviewing willing participants from the Petentials community. If you are interested in being one of my interviewees, or if there is a pet you’d love to see in the hot seat, you can send me a message through Petentials and you may wind up in the spotlight! My first interview was with Agutus, an armadillo with an attitude. He is a member of the Wong Family clan, along with Ka’aia (a lovely canine). See the interview below!
On a somber note, we were sad to hear of Agustus’ death after this interview. He was a great member of the Petentials community and such a pleasure to talk to…if not a little sassy, but it was his personality and charm that one me over. This first interview is dedicated to his life and memory. May he rest in peace.
- Abigail

Abigail: Hello, Agustus! How are you this evening?
Agustus: Just fine, thanks.
Ab: As part of your “claim to fame,” you mentioned you’ve had a barrier all of your life. What caused you to put up a barrier in the first place? Is it instinctual or something you chose to do?
Ag: Have you not noticed I wear armor? It’s kind of a genetic thing.
Ab: That brings me to my next question. On your profile, you admit to having a small head and big body. Does it bother you that your body is disproportioned?
Ag: I think it’s perfectly proportioned. Round, hard as a rock – what more could anybody want. And by the way, I’m very popular with the ladies because I have rock hard abs.
Ab: On that note, you say you haven’t been “fixed.” Is that a good or bad thing where your love life is concerned?
Ag: The ladies like it natural, baby.
Ab: I see that you eat mostly grubs. They don’t sound very juicy to me, but to each his own. Do you live strictly on grubs or does the “old broad” give you any handouts?
Ag: Oh no, I’m not eatin’ any of that human food. I don’t trust them [humans].
Ab: I noticed that you’re a stray in your neighborhood. Do you move around often?
Ag: I stroll across the street into the old broad’s yard, but mostly I just hang here in the jungle.
Ab: Living around so many humans, how do you feel about cars?
Ag: I don’t care for cars much, although they do provide some excitement for me.
Ab: What do you think about armadillos being referred to as “roadkill” or a “speedbump”?
Ag: I think that is rude and insensitive.
Ab: On a similar note, how do you feel knowing that some of your fallen brethren now sit in homes, stuffed, and usually holding an empty beer bottle? Does it make you wonder how you’ll end up?
Ag: I just hope I get the beer bottle before I’m stuffed. And that it’s not empty.
Ab: What is your greatest fear?
Ag: Hummers.
Ab: Okay, this is my last question. What do you love the most about your life?
Ag: The freedom.
Ab: Thank you so much, Agustus. It’s been a pleasure.
Ag: Same here.
