The Pet Scene in Your Town?

Al

Now that the Petentials cat is out of the bag all around the country, we'd love to hear your comments on the animal scene in your area.

What do you like to do when you're out of the house?

Are there any great parks, groups, or events you'd recommend?

What advice would you give another animal who may be moving to your area?

- Al & The Gang

ps Don't forget to mention your town/state in your post!

we live in orlando, florida

we live in orlando, florida and there are parks all over that allow leashed dogs. airport lake park off semoran blvd and warren park on daewyler ar two that we are near. there are a couple leash free dog parks, but we went once and turned around and left right away, to many aggressive dogs for us! the theme parks have kennels for dogs and cats. all the disney parks, universal studios, and seaworld! we always take my binx instead of leaving him home alone! there are more hotels than not that allow dogs in the room, none of the disney hotels though, there they would have to stay in a kennel all night! :)

Here on Rarotonga we don't

Here on Rarotonga we don't have leashes. Or collars. It's a really laid back place, with no parks, but man, we've got beaches. And dogs rule on the beaches. My buddies and I go fishing, run on the beach and our favorite thing is to hide behind the sand dunes until some tourists walk by, then we all jump out and bark like crazy.

The only problem here, is that this is like a really small island, and that kind of limits the dating pool, you know? I've got lots of brothers and cousins, but no new dogs. Still a cool place to live, though.

Here in Windsor Canada we

Here in Windsor Canada we have leashed and unleashed parks. In our city there is only one or two. We do not go to those. We go to the nature area behind the arena. Our other Bernese RIP used to walk off leash there. He had hip problems and was not what you call very fast. A lot of people walk their dogs off leash there and we have a lot of friends there. Our new baby Abby is very curious so we keep her on a leash. Maybe in another year she will mature enough. Her favourite part of the walk is the end where she gets to climb and jump in all the ice snow piles. When we are up North she runs free on our property, but does not leave the area of the house. Not yet anyway. We are hoping she does not go on walks alone to the river there because there is lots of wild animals and of course she loves water. They have lots of leash free parks in Toronto but that is too far away.

Oh Abby! Hearing you talk

Oh Abby! Hearing you talk about snowbanks brings back so many memories and makes me long for life in the North once more. Have fun and stay cool. :)

Around here in Pensacola

Around here in Pensacola there is a dog beach and a dog park that I know about but only one of each. The beach is on the bay, but is real nice and right up the parking lot is the park, both securely fenced in makes a good day at the park for me and all of my friends!

We live over in East Orlando

We live over in East Orlando right near UCF. Theres plenty of parks that are great for walking. Theres two parks on Dean road and Colonial and one of them has a special area for unleashed dogs. Also, the University of Doglando is right off of Colonial and Alfaya and theres also a new pet retreat that opened on Colonial near Lake PIckett Road. :p
