Hey, Dotty. Cheeky and I were pushing ice chips all over the floor this morning. They were a lot of fun. I think Mom is going to get us a little plastic pool to play in too. What have you been up to?

I'm afriad Mom is having a hard time finding a plastic kiddie pool. There are lots of inflatable ones to pick from, but don't think that would stand up well for dogs. She did find a large plastic storage box where the sides aren't too high. She's going to see if we will play in that while she still looks for the other.
We found a large plastic pool with steps and a slide at Wal-Mart, but Mom wouldn't buy that one. She said she didn't think Cheeky would ever get in it. She would have to have steps on the outside, too. She's going to keep looking and hope someone will get some more in.
We're hoping they will get some more small ones in. And if not, we have a large plastic storage box with low sides that we have a little water in. It's in the kitchen floor tonight, but we're going to take it outside this weekend and put more water in it. Barely enough to get your feet wet tonight, but enough to leave little wet foot prints everywhere. :) We have a large saucer that goes with a planter that broke. In the winter it has bird seed in it. Sometimes in the summer, too. Most of the time in hot weather though it has some water for the birds to have a bird bath ... and the cats a drinking fountain.
Mom put the big plastic container on the sun porch with water in it today. She had it a little deeper this time. I have discovered that I like to try and catch bubbles in the water. Not an easy thing to do, let me tell you! But oh what fun!
A turtle pool would probably be better than what we have. It's still on the big side. (Found a pool and not using the plastic box now.) Cheeky is not too sure about it. I took a drink from the pool yesterday but haven't stepping in yet. The sides are taller than the box. The pool needs some mud. :)
Mom is getting senile. We didn't get to go outside this evening. I never would let Mom put my harness on. She let me get to the sun porch, but no further. I did eat several of her flowers after she brought them into the sun porch and arranged them nicely in a jar. Flowers are so tasty. Yum!
Mom does fuss when I eat her flowers. She also tells me that she worries because she doesn't know if they will make me sick. She tries to pull them away from me, but they just rip up and I still have pieces. I am glad tomorrow is Saturday. Hopefully we will get to go on a nice long walk.
You should do like me, Dotty, and just go over the gate. Tee hee hee. Mom was calling me Pogo-Pip this morning because I was trying to jump up to get to things on the counter. I REALLY wanted some flowers up there - mostly the sprig of ivy that was in it, and then later some food that was up there. I just bounce and bounce and bounce trying to get high enough to gram me something good up there.
Seems like Mom has a new nick name for me every time I turn around. One day I am Destructicon (just because I shredded a few shower curtains), another I'm Houdini (first she works with me to jump higher to get over some jump bar and then she acts surprised when I make it over the 39 inch high gate). I've been the Pippinator when I ripped all the stuffing out of some toys and one of Mom's slippers. She's also called me a snollygoster and her Little Chili Pippers along with a whole host of other things. And I'm not even a year old yet. Does your Mom do that to you? Call you all kinds of things?
Cheeky's is October 25th, and mine is July 23rd. What day in October is yours? I keep trying to teach Cheeky some things, but Mom keeps trying to stop me. Like tonight. I was chewing on her rocking chair, so she chased me off. While she was chasing me, Cheeky started chewing on the rocking chair. No fair that Mom fussed at me for teaching that to Cheeky. Well, and for chewing on it myself. Tee hee hee.
Moms! What's a puppy to do? Mom said she is going to have to get cheeky to eat early tonight because she gets spayed tomorrow (assuming she is healthy this time) and can't eat after a certain time. Then Mom keeps telling me that I will have to be calm and nice to Cheeky for the next week or more. If she thinks I can be still and quiet for a week she is nuts!
Mom said I am being better than she could have ever imagined. Cheeky did get to come home yesterday and she is doing a lot of sleeping. Mom was keeping us apart at first, but finally let us in the same room. I have been super still and have cuddled up next to Cheeky to keep her warm and safe. Even when I shift around I am being careful to get up slow and to lay back down gently next to her, not on top of her like I usually do. Heck, I even brought a toy to Cheeky and it is rare that I share my toys ... and I tend to think ALL the toys are mine. Mom keeps calling me her "good mama dog" today.
Well, I was good for as long as I could stand it. I just want to play now! Mom says we are going back down stairs to get rid of more energy before calling it a night. She wants everyone to sleep well tonight ... and no getting up at 4 or 4:30 to play. She is such a party pooper.
