Anybody want to remember and honor a beloved friend who went to the pet rainbow? I do!
Before Pando, I lived with this old guy, a fat tan Lab called JJ. We lived in Miami then and I guess he was lost after Hurricane Andrew, 'cause he was living in the parking lot of this restaurant, JJ's, and mom found him there, took him home, and named him that. He had a hernia, an ear infection and real bad heartworm so he had to have a complete transfusion, but he was so healthy after that that he lived to the ripe old age of 17!
JJ was a cool dude and everyone respected him, but I used to bite his snout - playing, of course - and he let me! I think he liked the attention.
He also liked going to the vet 'cause he could pick up girls there, and he picked up girls at the beach too!
We don't have pics of him, but I invite all my Petentials friends to share the stories of your friends with us. That way, they live on.
Thanks!
Everyone's best friend,
:) Bow
Aw, that's a beautiful
Aw, that's a beautiful story about JJ, Bow. Big hugs to your mom for rescuing him after the hurricane! I'm so glad he had a long, happy life with you.
My brother Ricky was the dog my mom grew up with. He was a miniature Eskimo Spitz who was born blind--that's sort of how he got his name--Ricky is short for Ricochet. Mom's mom named him that because he was always bumping into things, being blind, the poor thing.
But he never let his blindness stop him from being a bouncy, fun, sweet-spirited little guy. One of his favorite things was to play with mom in the snow. He was so fluffy and cheerful that you just couldn't resist giving him a big hug!
He was also one of those dogs who can sense your mood. He cheered mom up when she needed it, and understood when she just needed someone to sit quietly with her. He crossed the rainbow bridge due to old age many years ago, and mom knows that if there's a heaven, he's up there. :)
