I don't know about where you live, but here at our house it feels like summer is already here. Time to serve up some Frosty Paws if you ask me!

Looks like we have nothing on our calendar for this month. So if I have missed anything please let me know! You can see the full list at http://www.petentials.com/node/2950. Glad to see we have Comemere's dates to add to the list.

How many pups out there don't like storms? We see that Sassy's Pet Paradise carries Thundershirts now. Something to think about for next month, too, before the fireworks. Might be a good thing to have. Just saying...

For help posting pictures and links in the blog check out this page.

And now ... you know what to do. Let's fill this blog up.

Pixie Bug

Well I think it was very

Well I think it was very unfair yesterday. Pip goes to the lake and when she gets back we ALL get baths. I didn't go in the lake. Why did Cheeky and I have to get a bath?!! I tried to hide under the bed because I knew something was up, but no such luck. Mom tricked me with treats and grabbed me.

I have claimed Mom's left side as my spot to sit. Cheeky has tried to tell me that is her spot and sometimes she beats me to it. So I try to sit on her. Usually she gives up and finds another spot, but not always.

Cheeky

Pixie and I didn't get to go

Pixie and I didn't get to go along to the lake. I am thinking that may have been a good thing. And personally I'm not sure if Pip jumped out or Mom made her walk the plank. Hehe. I can tell you if I go I will NOT be jumping out.

Not much else going on here. Just the same old same old. I have decided I do not like for Pixie to give Mom kisses. That is MY face for kissing. Mom keeps telling me I have to share. Bah!

We may get to go to Grandma's house for a little bit today. Not sure yet. Mom is working on a dog quilt over there. I like to sit on Mom's lap and supervise.

Pippi

Ruh roh about the fireworks,

Ruh roh about the fireworks, Abby. Hope all survived it. They used to do a fireworks show near our house every year, but with the economy the way it has been they have not done it for a couple of years now. When the local high school plays football and scores we do get to see a few fireworks go off. We can sit on the front porch and see them. Just two isn't too bad though.

The nerve, Tink. How could they leave you?!! Don't they know you are an experienced traveller? Glad they are back home and hope your mom and grandma gave you some belly rubs, too. Bet you were glad to have your sis back. Did she leave her blanket for you this time while she was gone?

Bug, Mom has a red neck today. Red back, too. We went on an adventure yesterday and she forgot the sun screen. We went to the lake and I got to go swimming and then we went canoeing. I'm not quite sure what I think of that and wanted to sit on Mom's lap. I also jumped out at one point. Hehe. Good thing I had my life jacket on. I swam up to the front of the canoe, back to the back and then up beside Mom again. Good thing I am light and she could pick me up and get me back in without tipping over. I survived the whole thing and kind of enjoyed it some, too. When we got back home I got a bath. Don't know why Mom thought I needed a bath. I had already gotten wet in the lake. Sheesh.

Vixie

Definately the couch....and

Definately the couch....and the blanket.

THis weekend will be fireworks for us. ALL weekend...mom says the redneck around her can't pay their bills but will spend hundreds of dollars on fireworks. Wonder what a redneck is??

Tinkerbell

Well....we kind of have to

Well....we kind of have to agree with Angelina here, Cheeky. It definately looks like you are telling her to kiss your butt. Hehe...

We didn't have a very good weekend. Mom and grandma left us overnight on Friday to go get sis. They had a pet sitter stop by to let us out. And you know how I feel about that. Actually though I was good this time....it was Dusty and Keebler that misbehaved. However I was very glad when dad got home from work that night. I had him rub by belly extra times.

I definately think the beach chairs are a brillant idea....the couch is an even better one, Sassy. I'll even bring mom's mink blanket (don't tell mom) because it is so soft. Not sure how she would feel about sand in it though.

Abby

Fireworks night. Biggest

Fireworks night. Biggest international fireworks display in north America. Yup, this is when every dog and cat for miles cowers in fear. (well we don't) but heard some real interesting stories like chewing a hole in the drywall. Our human has seen them so many times, we will watch on tv and of course listen for the booming and rattling windows. Seriously loud and echoes thru both cities. The finale is the absolute loudest.

Cheeky

Pixie should have pointed

Pixie should have pointed out that all the grrs you hear in the video are her!

Pixie Bug

I think Cheeky was saying

I think Cheeky was saying kiss my butt. So I was touching her. Just saying. See what you think ...

I have finished my meds for the hookworms, and my appetite is fine now. Mom needs to check with the vet and see if I have to go back for a recheck or anything. Nothing was mentioned about one, but Mom is thinking it may be good to know for sure everything is cleared up.

Mom has not taken and tried me around the water yet. So don't know if I want to swim with the others or hang out in the beach chairs. I can say that I like chasing cats more than being on the therapy disc. Hehe. Emma is starting to get me back though. She has been getting in some sneak attacks. Then I just bark and bark and bark.

Cheeky

Comemere so glad you are

Comemere so glad you are doing well after your surgery. Pixie is, too. She was lucky she didn't have to go back to get stitches out.

Sassy, beach chairs sound good for princesses. Do you guys ever get to go to the beach there? Or maybe the first question should be any pet friendly beaches near you? Mom keeps talking about wanting to take us out in a canoe. I'm not too sure about this. I think that sounds like an activity for just her and Pip.

Pixie and I were playing some at Grandma's house. At least Mom thinks some of it is playing because we are wagging our tails and I'm hoping around the way I do when I play. Other bits she wasn't sure. She thought it might be a who's the boss here kind of thing, but in a pretty friendly way. Of course Mom did say a couple of times she thought it looked like I was saying "kiss my butt" to Pixie. Hehe.

Pippi

Abby thanks for sharing

Abby thanks for sharing that. Mom tends to be kind of careful about what she lets us have, especially Cheeky. We're kind of leery of treats from China. Just seems like there have been problems with too many things from there.

Sassy, don't feel bad. We have not been making it by here as often ourselves. Some days the time just flies by. Like you, we think about everyone here all the time! We're glad whenever you can stop by though. You know we just love seeing you!

We spent a few days at Grandma's house - house and cat sitting. Patches and Sweetpea were ready for a break from Pixie so we all headed over there. Emma was lonely and even slept with us. In fact she and I curled up together at bedtime. She is starting to play with Pixie some, too, and Pixie is getting a little better about not chasing as much. Or at least being nicer when she chases.

Um, I think Mom should call Pixie Angelina, too. Sometimes Pix and I get confused and not sure if Mom said Pix, Pixie, Pip or Pippi. Hehe. I just may have to assume Mom is always saying Pix or Pixie. Tee hee hee.

Coming in the house today Mom is not sure what happened, and for that matter neither am I, but out of the corner of her eye she saw me start up the steps and the next thing either of us knew I was upside down. It didn't look pretty. I stood there still for a minute, but seemed okay then. I was able to make it up the stairs and into the house. Mom is going to keep a close eye on me, but I think I am fine now.

We have seen a kitty around the house quite a lot. Mom can't decide if it looks like the one that belonged to the people that lived in this house before us or not. Very similar anyway. It won't let Mom get close, so Mom tends to think it is another cat. Anyway, today she also spotted a little kitten. Looks like they may be living under the house. Neither one will let Mom get close and as far as we know there is only one kitten. Mom is hoping she can tame them and maybe let Emma have some siblings.

COMEMERE

tinkerbell and sassy, iam

tinkerbell and sassy,

iam doing much better and i go back to the vet this thursday to get my stitches out and i cant wait.i ben leaving them alone and momma is so happy that i been leaving them and i been playing but momma makes sure that i dont over do it and get my stitches caught on anything.

tinkerbell,oh ima sorry to hear about bug having trouble with her back.i hope she feels better soon and iam sending a massage theraphy.

Sassy Little Bit

Sorry, we are having trouble

Sorry, we are having trouble getting here these days but we're always thinking about it. I think I'm too far behind to catch up. Comemere and Angelina (I know, but I like it) we sure hope you're both back to perfect health now and all grown up.

We hate the storms too, we have them alllllll the time. the afternoon sea breezes from the Gulf and the Atlantic clash and we get clobbered. We DO NOT like it at all, but that's pretty much what you get most of the year when you live in Florida...another reason to get out of here.

Angelina Pixie the disc looks like fun and we're sure you'll get the hang of it soon. Maybe you should focus a little more on that and a little less on the cats.

Oh, yeah we love to travel. Let me see if I can find some great beach chairs for us Princesses to sit in. I'm thinking the water might be better than the sand though....Nope, neither one. I'll be looking for the beach chairs. Or I could just bring my couch not really meant for the beach but very soft and I think we could all fit on it.

Pippi, you go girl. You are soooooo talented, we really thin you would be a great therapy dog.

Thanks for the info Abby, we don't get those but I'll tell mom to be sure not to even think about it.

OK, as usual, I am being told I have to go now !#@#%)_^*_#*^^@$) this has definitely got to stop. I need to have a real talking to with my help here.

Love you guys, Kisses, Kisses.

Abby

Just thought we would post

Just thought we would post this, we are not allowed any doggy treats (we still sneak a few from the lady next-door). Got this notice from the lady who has my parents.

Please check and be sure you aren't giving these as treats:

http://avma.org/petfoodsafety/jerkytreats/default.asp

They have been linked to some pretty nasty things. Canada and the U.S.

Pixie Bug

Hmm. A cloth and padded

Hmm. A cloth and padded cone sounds better if you have to wear one. I did NOT like the other one. So glad we are beyond that now.

Cheeky may not mind storms, but I am not a fan of them. I make sure I find a spot VERY close to Mom when the thunder starts up. That was fine with me that they went north today. I think Mom must be nuts for liking them!

Well, I am not a jumper. Pip and Cheeky can jump up on the couch no problem, but I have to have a running start. And even then sometimes I don't make it and have to try again. I do like to dance around though. I don't think my back legs are made right for jumping. My feet point out to the sides and my knees go in a little. But the vet checked me out and thinks I was just born that way and have learned to deal with it just fine.

Cheeky and I were playing a little today at Grandma's house. Cheeky hops around some and I get beside her and put my paw in her. I make some grring noises but we're just playing. Pippi would like to play with me, but I keep telling her she is too hyper. Mom is encouraging me to give her a chance though.

Cheeky

I need a blanket for the

I need a blanket for the beach, too. I don't think I do sand either. I'm sure it's a princess rule.

Tink watching Pip wears me out sometimes. I run over and take a turn now and then, but am content to watch most of the time. I had fun showing Pixie how to use the balance discs. She was afraid of them at first.

I'm sorry you were hurting with your surgery, Tink. Mom is guessing Pippi and Pixie were not. They both stayed one night after their surgery. I got to come home the same day since I prefer a quiet spot without much going on. Pip was very good to me and curled up close to keep me safe and warm so I could just sleep.

We have been having a lot of storms here, too. We had one the other night that shook the house and set off the car alarm a couple of times. Then night before last one came through and took the roof off part of the Alcoa plant a mile or two from our house. There were several large trees and some large branches down in Grandma's neighborhood from that same storm. Tonight there were some close, but they went north of us.

Pippi

Let's see if this will work

Let's see if this will work for the pictures. We had another photo shoot today, this time with pup corn. It's pop corn made for dogs.

As you can see I had a lot of fun.

Road trip to Tink's house! Comemere, Sassy and Denali we'll meet you up there.

Vixie

And Bug....do not forget

And Bug....do not forget that Bug does not do water. Uh uh...no way. Mom will need to bring a soft blanket for me to lay one...because I also don't do sand. At least I don't think I do....what is sand??

I don't like the storms either....they are loud and make lots of noise. Are you guys having alot of storms? How's a girl supposed to go outside and do her business in the rain??

Tinkerbell

Hi guys....Pixie and

Hi guys....Pixie and Comemere....glad to hear your surgeries went well. You'll both have to give Bug some pointers in the future. Soon as mom gets caught up from Bug's back problems....off for the snip she goes. I was in alot of pain after mine and mom slept on the floor next to me the first night. Finally, about 2am she gave me more of the pain meds and hoped for the best....it sure helped. Then she called the vet that morning and told them what was going on and they said it was good to not let me be in pain. After that though, I was back to my awesome self in no time.

We like your jumping pics, Pip. Boy did that look like it took alot of energy. I think I need a nap now to rest up....hehe

Pip and Comemere...and I believe Denali is a swimmer if we remember right. Anyways...you guys are welcome to come swim in our lake....while I watch from the beach of course with Cheeky and Sassy....

The weather has been crazy here...lots of storms and I don't like them. The trees we're bending like crazy yesterday....made mom real nervous.

COMEMERE

hello pippi,oh thank you iam

hello pippi,oh thank you iam so gld to be doing good and momma is so happy that iam leaving my stitches alone.iam sorry that pixies havent left them alone and i know they are temping to take out or mess with.i know the collar isnt fun wearing one of the pups i met at the doctors office had to wear one and it doesnt look comfty at all.i seen this one that is made of cloth and its padded and very soft looking.wow your momma and grandma sure came up with thing to help her not to mess with the stitches.but i know they are temping.

Pixie Bug

That balance disc thing

That balance disc thing isn't too bad. And Cheeky may have the right idea. Just sit close and don't do anything but still get a bite to eat. She's a sneaky one that way.

I've been getting into trouble for chasing the cats. Not sure why. I chase them very well. Hehe. Mom keeps telling me I can't do that though. I've even seemed to spark the desire in Pip as well. So we are both getting squirted with the squirt bottle. That I don't like.

My appetite continues to improve, and treats that I wouldn't try before I am trying now. Mom wonders if maybe hookworms were the reason I wasn't eating at the shelter. Or that combined with stress. Either way, I am starting to act more normal and like food. I would prefer super tasty treats to the low fat kibble Mom serves sometimes, but I have to admit I like the kibble, too.

Cheeky

Pippi did a lot of jumping

Pippi did a lot of jumping today. She likes to do that anyway. When she has a lot of energy that needs to be gotten rid of, and the weather isn't good for going outside, Mom has Pippi get up on the bed. Then Mom stands there with her arm out and Pip jumps back and forth over it like she is on a trampoline. As soon as she lands she doesn't even move her feet, just takes off again to jump back over. I got tired just watching from my pile of pillows I was sitting on. I did go over and step over Mom's arm before going back to my throne. Hehe. I did more with the balance disc. More my level of exercise. I had to show Pixie how you do this stuff.

I've been holding my own health-wise. I'm still on medication and prescription food, but am doing pretty good with that. Mom has let me have a little bitty nibble of treats from time to time. Sometimes I can take that other times not. We are hopeful though that given more time I will be able to get back to a more normal diet.

Pippi

Comemere I'm glad your

Comemere I'm glad your surgery went well. Pixie has been a stinker not wanting to leave her incision alone. Cheeky and I watched and were amused as Mom and Grandma tried to tie various things around Pixie's tummy one evening. The way Pixie is shaped she kept walking out of them in minutes. Hehe. She had to wear a cone some, but seemed very uncomfortable in it.

We've had some noisy thunderstorms the last few evenings. I think it was the night before last they were close enough the house shook with the thunder and the car alarm went off ... twice. Hehe. Bet the neighbors loved that. With tonight's storm we had some hail. Pixie and I are not liking all these noisy storms.

We had a photo shoot this afternoon. We were trying to get shots for a monthly photo thing and this time the theme is jumping. So Mom set up the camera on the tripod, set the interval timer and then we tried to get the timing right. Not an easy thing to do! But I had a lot of fun trying. Mom needs to go through the photos we got to pick a good one or two and then we will post it. We won't make you look at all of them. Mom gets a little camera happy sometimes. Hehe.

We also introduced Pixie to balance disc. Didn't think she was ready for the exercise ball yet. So Mom just encouraged her to walk across the disc. She was a little timid about it at first, but when she discovered there were treats involved she got the hang of it.

HI PIPPI,MY SURGERY WENT WELL MOMMA AND GRANDPA PICKED ME UP YESTERDAY AFTERNNON I HAD A ALITTLE ROUGH WHEN I GOT HOME I THREW UP BUT THEY TOLD MOMMA I MIGHT DO THAT.TODAY I ATE FINALLY AND DRANK WATER YESTERDAY AND ALL DAY TODAY MOMMA WAS HAPPY TO SEE ME DRINK.I DID MANAGE TO GIVE OUT A GROWL AT ZEUS TODAY AND GRANDPA AND MOMMA WAS HAPPY TO SEE ME GET BACK TO NORMAL.WELL WE TARTED TO GET TRIPLE DIGITS LAST MONTH WHICH IS UNUSUAL FOR US TO GET TRIPLE BUT ITS KINDA EARLY THIS MONTH FOR TRIPLE DIGITS.

Pippi

Hmm. Mom sure thought we

Hmm. Mom sure thought we had posted some updates the other night and we don't see them now. She must have dreamed that. BOL! Let's make it for real this time.

Comemere, I hope your surgery went well and you are recovering quickly. We've been thinking about you. We've also been hoping you got some cooler weather. Tripple digits sounds awful!! It's just too early for that. Have you had any tripple digits yet, Sassy? We finally got some rain the other day and we needed it as well, but were not on any kind of resrtictions. We've also cooled back off a little bit. Highs in the 80s the last couple of days.

We're a little short on time this evening, so I am going to do all the talking this time. I have been a little jealous of the extra attention Pixie has been getting after her surgery. Turns out Mom had to take Pixie back to the vets and she has hookworms. So we have been doing a lot of extra cleaning and such. Happy to say we've been a big improvement in energy level since Pixie went to the vets yesterday. So that is good. She has also seemed to have a little bit of an appetite this evening. Pixie did have to wear a cone on Wednesday. She just would not leave that inscision alone! She has done better yesterday and today. Yesterday probably because she just wasn't feeling well, but think we are back on track now.

I'll go swimming with you Comemere! I love the water, too. Can't say that I have ever tried to swim in my water bowl though. BOL. Well, have to run. Hope to have time for all of us to talk this weekend.

Pixie Bug...we're so glad

Pixie Bug...we're so glad your surgery went okay. Are you feeling pretty good? Mom said something about you having to wear a cone? How is that going? Not sure I would like that.

Well....Sis is packing her bag to go away for a week. I am not to happy and am sticking to her like glue trying to give her a guilt trip. So far I don't think it's working. I hope she leaves her blanket at home this time....it's my favorite to sleep on.

Comemere...where does your uncle live in Indiana? We had some hot weather last week....but it's cooler and rainy this week. We like it when it's cooler. A few days it was so warm we didn't even want to go outside.

We like Angelina Ballerina, too.....good thing you don't have to sign your name, Pixie. Hehe

Sassy Little Bit

Hugs and kisses from us Miss Angelina Pixie. We sure hope you are home and feeling a little better. Lots of POP for you to recover QUICK!!!

Pixie and Cheeky it sounds like you had a good time at Grandmas and we're glad you got to cuddle in the car.

WOW, Pippi, you and mom all by yourselves, how special is that. I'm so glad you got to play in the water and your mom got in with you. What a special girl.

You're right about the worry thing that's for sure.
